Emmanuel Baffour Joins Ashantigold

The former Ghana Premier League top scorer has made a return to the domestic front signing for the Miners. Former Ghana Premier League top scorer Emmanuel Baffour has signed for Ashantigold after being shown the exit by Mamelodi Sundowns. The 24-year-old ex-Edubiase FC attacker is joining the former Caf Champions League runners-up as replacement for striker Yakubu Mohammed, who moved to Maritzburg during the summer. We identified a weakness in our attacking department and this led to our decision to bring in Emmanuel Baffour. We are relying on his experience to improve the clubs goal count in the league this season, AshGold CEO Kudjoe Fianoo told Accra-based Live FM. Baffour, who was groomed at Liberty Professionals and Tema Youth, emerged the top scorer in the Ghana league for the 2011-12 season where he banged in 21 goals for New Edubiase. He made a $400,000 move to PSL Side Sundowns but failed to impress making only two appearances.
