Children of David Lamptey take over Radio XYZ

The children of the late David Lamptey, a business tycoon and Proprietor of Radio XYZ, has taking over the running of the station with the hope of revamping it to suit the vision of their daddy. Ms Cynthia Lamptey, Daughter of Mr Lamptey who made this known to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Monday said her fathers vision was to make Radio XYZ the best station in Ghana and to be the voice for Africans. She said in order to maintain the station as lasting legacy in memory of his late dad, she has rolled out GH500,000 to pay the salary arrears of the dedicated workers who stood thick and thin, when the Accra based FM station was in crisis. Despite the lack of salaries the workers decided to put up their best in honour of Mr David Lamptey. I am very proud of their sacrificial and selfless devotion to duty in the face of the financial difficulties. But for them we will not be talking about Radio XYZ today, she said. Ms Lamptey said the children of Mr David Lamptey have resolved to sustain the mission and vision of Radio XYZ as elaborated by him. Our daddy has told us a lot of how he intended to use the station to deepen the countrys fledgling democracy and the development process, so we are ready to partner other stakeholders to make the mission and vision come true. She said she wants the station to grow the way Mr David Lamptey envisaged it, so that it could be a platform to serve Ghana and Africa. Radio XYZ was established on February 2, 2012 after a test transmission on November 2011 at Mr David Lampteys Kikiriki house at Osu in Accra.
