Ghana Refugee Board Runs Out Of Cash As Donors Pull Out

The Ghana Refugee Board has given indications that they will soon be cash strapped if government does not step up to support their activities. International support for the various groups of refugees in the country, particularly those from Ivory Coast, will in two months time run out. Refugee activities in Syria and other countries are becoming the major headache for international donors. The project coordinator of the Ghana refugee board, Tettey Paddy in an interview with XYZ News said the board is now struggling to mobilize funds to provide proper care for the displaced persons. The biggest challenge now is providing assistance for them. According to him, "they could soon starve if there is no timely intervention". For the large groups of refugees in the camps, the biggest challenge is food assistance.
