A 40-year-old teacher, Amos Allotey Mofatt was on Tuesday put before an Accra Circuit Court for allegedly having sex with his sixteen year old daughter.
Mofatt charged with incest has pleaded not guilty.
The court presided over by Ms Sedina Agbemava granted Mofatt bail in the sum of GH 7,000 cedis with three sureties to reappear on December 12.
Inspector Kofi Atimbire, the prosecutor told the court that Madam Dzifa Aseidu, a Sunday school teacher was the complainant.
Prosecution said four years ago, the victim came to live with the accused and his five year-old step sister.
Inspector Atimbire said during the early part of 2013, Mofatt started harassing his daughter sexually.
In August this year, Mofatt succeeded in having sex with the victim for the first time. Soon after the act, Mofatt warned the victim not tell anyone else he would stop sponsoring her education.
The victim who was afraid of losing her education therefore kept the ordeal to herself and the accused person continued with his sexual advances.
On August 16, this year, the prosecutor said the victim and other church members went on a three day Christian Camp meeting in Sekyire, where she was touched by the sermon delivered at the meeting.
Soon after the meeting, victim narrated her ordeal to the preacher, who in turn directed her to the complainant who counseled her and encouraged her to report the matter to the Police.
Prosecution said on November 26, this year, at about 4:00 am, the victim informed the complainant that her father had just had sex with her that dawn.
Inspector Atimbire said the complainant reported the issue to the Domestic Violence and Victims� Support Unit (DOVVSU) at Madina, Accra.
The victim was issued with a medical form for examination whiles the Police arrested the father.
