The Ghana Road Transport Coordinating Council has directed all transport unions to ensure that they do pre-departure checks on all vehicles before they take off.
They should also take punitive action against any driver caught to be driving under the influence of alcohol.
The Council also wants passengers to report drivers who misconduct themselves on the road to the Police or any transport union.
The General Secretary of the GRTCC, Alhaji Alidu Baba said this in an interview with Radio Ghana in Accra.
