Is Govt Happy Paying Huge Debts?...NSA Is Deliberately Piling Up One For The Nation

Government would soon be forced into paying another Judgment Debt following nonpayment of Electronic Stretcher Vans the National Sports Authority (NSA) purchased from a private company in 2009. In times of injuries during football matches, the electronic stretcher van is used to carry footballers and other sportsmen off the field. The importer of the vans, K. Badu Agro Chemicals Company Limited, has on several occasions, drawn the attention of the NSA to have proper negotiation if they so wish to keep the vans but this has yielded no results. Peacefmonline.com has intercepted documents which indicate that the NSA entered into a contract with the company in the run-up to the CAN 2008 tournament. A letter by the then Chief Executive of the NSA, Prince Ernest Oduro-Mensah to K. Badu Agro chemical Company Limited, made it clear that the use of the electronic vans during the tournament would enhance the image of Ghana. Till then, the NSA was hiring the vans from the company and agreed to pay GH125 per the use of the vans for the tournament. But K. Badu Agro Chemical Limited in letter dated September 9, 2009, informed the NSA of its intention to sell the vans outright at the cost of $20.000 per unit. Documents in possession of Peacefmonline.com further indicate that the NSA agreed to purchase the eight vans at a total cost of $160,000.00.
