So tragic! A Brooklyn dad threw his 3-year-old son from the roof of a 52-story apartment building after a bitter custody battle resulted in his ex-wife being granted custody of their toddler. The father then jumped off the same roof to his own death. Dmitriy Kanarikov, 35, was spotted on security cameras leading his son Kirill, 3, by the hand to the top of a friend�s apartment building in the Upper West Side of New York City on Dec. 22 instead of meeting his estranged wife, Svetlana Bukharina, to exchange custody of their boy. The anxious father pushed his son off the roof, where he fell 46 stories before landing on the top of a John Jay College building next door. Young Kirill survived the fall, but died at St. Luke�s Roosevelt Hospital just minutes after paramedics rushed him in. He was dressed in his Disney Cars pajamas when he arrived at the hospital. �They were pumping his chest and working on him, and nothing� Luis Ortiz, a witness at the hospital, told The New York Post. �It was just heartbreaking � They tried to do the best they could.� Estranged Wife Mourns The little boy�s mother, Svetlana, is understandably �a mess,�� after the tragic loss of her son, a law-enforcement source told The New York Post. She told police that her husband had previously �threatened to kill himself and then kill our child,� a source told the site. Our thoughts are with the little boy�s mother and the rest of the victims� families at this difficult time.
