African Scholars Acknowledged In Ghana

Daasebre Prof. Oti Boateng, Omanhene of New Juabeng, Prof. Kofi Anyidoho, Nana Ama ofei Nkansah, Queen mother of Amonorkrom � Eastern region, Kwaku Sintim-Misa, aka KSM, Dr. Amin Bonsu of Amen Scientific Herbal Hospital and the traditional overlord of Tema, Nii Osongaa Adjei Kraku II have been awarded �Distinguished Fellow� of the 21st century. The awards, which was an initiative by the Distinguished Scholars of Africa were to recognized and appreciate people�s effort, knowledge, skill and commitment by the noble names mentioned above to the development of Ghana. The President of Distinguished Scholars of Africa, Nana Oppong, at a power forum, dubbed �wisdom, power and sacred values� held in Accra yesterday, noted that as a nation there was a need for the people, especially the youth, to acknowledge the old generation. He said a nation must be built on paths and organic network based principally on wisdom, knowledge, culture and on many incentives for individuals, institutions and communities. He noted that every nation needs power to survive and to prosper, adding it was equally important for the country to create access for knowledge building. Prof. Emeritus J.H Nketie added that even though Ghana was not developing fast as expected, some foundation had been laid for the new generation to build on. He urged that:�let us have confident with what we can do to move forward.� The 92 years old statesman urged Ghanaians to be creative and have positive approach to transformation the country�s culture and traditions into contemporary contest.
