The New Patriotic Party says nomination forms for applicants interested in contesting regional executive posts in the party will be available from Saturday, December 28 to Tuesday, December 31. The forms which cost GH₵100 each, are available at the regional offices of the party, with the exception of applicants in the Greater Accra Region who must pick the forms at the national office, a statement issued Saturday and signed by General Secretary, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie said. The NPP holds elections to elect regional executives on January 25, 2014 and expects nominations to close by January 7, 2014. Applicants for chairperson and vice chairperson are expected to pay filing fees of Gh₵ 1,000 while all others go for Ghs500. While congratulating party members on the successful conduct of the various elections held so far, the leadership of the NPP further urged regional leaders to complete outstanding constituency elections in their respective regions. Rules issued earlier by the party to guide the elections said the Regional Executive elections shall be held simultaneously throughout the country to be conducted by the Electoral Commission and supervised by the party�s regional elections committee. The election is open to all card bearing members of the party in good standing for two years who are resident in the region or hail from the region. Good Standing is demonstrated by active participation in regional activities and abiding by the Constitution of the Party.
