Christians Urged To Protect The Environment

Reverend Dr Isaac K. Fokuo, District Pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Trinity Congregation, Tema Community Four, has urged Christians to live in harmony with the environment in order to protect Gods creation. He said greed is driving humanity to destroy the environment and thus undermining the peace, adding: The earth; animals; birds and rivers are groaning under destructive tendencies of human beings. We could not have the peace, which the birth of Christ brought, if we engaged in wanton destruction of Gods creation. Rev. Dr Fokuo, who was preaching the Christmas sermon at Tema, said sin is any action that displeased God and asked Christians to eschew corruption and other vices that prevented humans from receiving the peace of God. He urged Christians to be agents of peace in their homes, churches and workplaces; and to use the Christmas season to resolve all conflicts in order to be at peace with themselves and others, adding: the best gift you can give to people, who have wronged you, is to forgive them.
