2014 Will Be A Hopeless Year...

General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie is predicting massive socio-economic hardships in 2014. He said the repercussions of governments fiscal indiscipline will be gravely felt by Ghanaians this year. Owusu Afriyie who was speaking on Asempa FMs Ekosii Sen programme Tuesday stated unequivocally that 2014 will be a hopeless year under President John Mahama. According to him, the Mahama-led administration has no clue about how to resuscitate Ghanas ailing economy. But President Mahama has prophetically declared 2014 as the year of "many good things to happen" in Ghana and admonished all Ghanaians to "claim it." In a New Year's message broadcast to the nation on Tuesday, the president conceded 2013 was a difficult year but said he is "proud to lead Ghana into an era of prosperity and development." On the contrary, Sir John as the NPP scribe is popularly called said, the litany of empty promises by the president is just to deceive Ghanaians. He opined that in spite of similar assurances by President that the economic hardship bedeviling Ghanaians will soon be over in 2013, the situation still persists. The NPP scribe said the hardship in the country is induced by governments insatiable quest to create, loot and share at the expense of the ordinary Ghanaian. Sir John urged Ghanaians to fasten their seat belts for the difficult times under the incompetent Mahama-led administration.
