Celebrity Relationship Must Be Sacrificial - Actress

Life is indeed a journey and its experiences help shape our thoughts, attitudes and actions. This is the mantra of sassy actress, Christabel Ekeh, as her experiences have taught her to be cautious of the men who come her way and want to be more than just friends. In an interview with her, she recounted her experience with a man (name withheld) who came into her life and wanted to be more than friends. She agreed but in her mind she decided to really examine the guy to find out if the words he professed to her were genuine or fake. "He was caring, loving, understanding and was everything that a lady would want and at a point I felt I had found my Mr. Right. But on second thought and analyzing our conversations and his deeds, I realized that he was in because of my fame and worth, she said. "I immediately stepped aside as I wasn't ready for a heartbreak and don't like men who take advantage of women," she added. Touching on other issues, Christabel said she doesn't believe in the myth that has been created around celebrities that their relationships do not last as she confidently and repeatedly made it clear that such relationships can work depending on the individual and she does not have a problem marrying a celebrity even though she's one and is aware of the circumstances surrounding such relationships especially with regards to making time for it. In an answer to how hers would be different from Yvonne Nelson/Iyanya, Nadia Buari/Michael Essien, Okyeame Kwame and Nana Ama McBrown etc. she said a relationship has to be liberal, understanding and sacrificial. "I will make sure I know him beyond his celebrity lifestyle. I will not be in a relationship because of his status or personality but it will be because I love him. I will also not listen to what people say about him because the relationship is just for the two of us," she said. On the other hand she would not date a man who is insecure and is not humble. The first runner-up of Miss Malaika 2008 contestant got her big break through in the movie industry when she featured in Deadly Passions where she played a supporting role with John Dumelo and Yvonne Nelson. She is also the face of Star Assurance.
