Access Bank Reconstitutes Ghana Board

Access Bank (Ghana) Limited has appointed a new board chairman and four new directors to strengthen its existing team to oversee the next phase of its growth and expansion. A seasoned lawyer and past President of the Ghana Bar Association who joined the board as a Director in 2012, Mr Frank W. K. Beecham, has been appointed to chair the board, a statement from the bank said. Mr Beecham will succeed Mr Herbert Wigwe who has recently been appointed the Group Managing Director of Access Bank Plc, Nigeria. Commenting on his appointment, Mr Beecham said: �The re-organisation of the Ghana board is a demonstration of a strong institutional commitment to sustainability and a robust succession plan.� The bank also appointed two accomplished Ghanaian individuals, Mr Ernest Mintah and Ms Abena Amoah, as Non-Executive Directors. This brings the total number of Ghanaian directors on the board to four. Their appointments are subject to approvals from the Bank of Ghana. Mr Ernest Mintah joins the board with over three decades of experience; working in the banking and finance sectors in Ghana and the United States. Other appointments Ms Abena Amoah is an accomplished financial and investment advisor with over 15 years of experience. She is currently the chief executive officer of Baobab Advisors, a financial advisory services company she founded in 2011. The Managing Director of Access Bank Ghana, Mr Dolapo Ogundimu, said: �The new appointments would reinforce the bank�s leadership position in the Ghanaian market. The reconstituted board Other members of the reconstituted board are Mr Dela Selormey, Mr Kameel Adebayo, Mr Dolapo Ogundimu, Mr Herbert Wigwe, Group Managing Director for Access Bank Plc; Mr Obinna Nwosu, Deputy Group Managing Director Access Bank Plc; and Mr Elias Igbinakenzua, Executive Director, Corporate and Investment Banking- Access Bank Plc.
