NDC Will Exit Office Tomorrow And Face The Music

Tomorrow, they say never comes; but if you are fortunate to see another precious day, just be grateful for one thing. Tomorrow will end the National Democratic Congress (NDC's) term of office and the New Patriotic Party will take over hopefully, Titus Glover has prophesied. Hon. Glover on Thursday joined his colleagues on the streets to demonstrate against the sale of Merchant Bank to Fortiz Equity Fund. The decision by the Speaker of Parliament to prevent the minority in Parliament from conducting an independent investigation into the deal, compelled Hon. Glover and his colleagues to go on a protest march. The Member of Parliament for Tema East Constituency, stated on Okay FM that if his colleagues in the NDC thought they will be in power forever and for that matter can sell off state assets at their own discretion without recourse to the law, then they better reverse that thinking. The confident-speaking MP stated that should the NPP regain power tomorrow, they would arrest anybody who failed to ensure that due diligence was done before Merchank Bank was sold to Fortiz Private Equity Fund Ltd. He specifically mentioned the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Henry Kofi Wampah, as one person who would be brought before the law to answer questions relating to how the deal was sealed. Fortiz Private Equity Fund Ltd has been handed the right to own Merchant Bank, but since acquiring the asset, it has come under public scrutiny considering the way the deal was sealed.
