Jacobu SHS Reiterates Calls To Relocate Cemetery Near Entrance To School

The Headmaster of Jacobu Senior High Technical School, JASTECH, in the Amansie Central District of Ashanti, Francis Yao Agorsor has repeated his appeal to the traditional authority of the Jacobou town to relocate the public cemetery which is currently located near the entrance of the school. According to him, the proximity of the cemetery to the school is psychologically affecting some of the students, and preventing them from attending school programmes in the evening. The situation also does not help in creating the required teaching and learning environment. Speaking to GBCs Garden City Radio in Kumasi, Mr Agorsor said he has already formally reported the situation to the Amansie Central District Director of Education and the Assembly Member for the area, for them to act on the request to relocate the cemetery. Touching on other matters of the school, Mr Agorsor, said the school has witnessed a significant transformation in both academic and infrastructural development and discipline. In the area of academics, Mr Agorsor said JASTECH, as the school, is popularly called, recorded its best performance in the West African Secondary School Certificate Examinations ever, when all the 478 candidates it presented for the 2013 edition passed. He noted that the school has already received science equipment for practical work and that they will be fixed in the Science Laboratory very soon for use.
