Ohemeng Kissi elected Eastern Regional NPP Chairman

Kiston Ohemeng Kissi, former Member of Parliament for Akwatia, was on Saturday elected the new chairman for the Eastern Region branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He secured 361 votes to beat the incumbent, Dr Samuel Annor, who polled 229 votes, while Alhaji Omar Bodinga retained his position as Regional First Vice-Chairman with 444 votes to beat Nana Addo Boakye who had 143 votes. For the position of Second Vice Chairman, Nana Fredua Agyemang Ofori-Atta had 419 votes to beat his sole challenger, Seth Okyere, the immediate past Regional Organiser who secured 172 votes. Prince Aboagye was elected as Regional Secretary, Margaret Darko; Regional Women Organiser, and Alhaji Mohammed Sraj, Regional Nasara Coordinator. Kwame Appiah Kodua obtained 281 votes to defeat five other candidates to become the new Regional Organiser. For the position of Assistant Secretary, Nana Yaw Papin secured 344 to defeat the incumbent, Mr Seth Antwi Boasiako who obtained 248. Benjamin Kumi Larbi polled 298 votes to become the new Regional Treasurer while Jerry Osei-Poku secured 223 to defeat three other candidates, Kinsley Ntiamoah Ofosu, 150 votes, Kwame Baah Mensah 62 votes and Faludu Ahmed 155 votes to win the Regional Youth Organiser position. The National Director of Finance and Administration of the party, Mr Opare Hammond who swore into office the new executives, called for support from all members of the NPP to ensure electoral victory in 2016. In his acceptance speech, Mr Kissi commended the delegates for the confidence reposed in him and other elected executives and pledged to work hand in hand with the outgoing executive to ensure that the party wins the 2016 general election. Mr Yaw Osafo-Marfo, Chairman of the NPP Regional Election Committee expressed appreciation to all the aspirants for conducting themselves well in their campaign.
