Ghana To Build A Satellite Ground Station By March 2014

All Nations University (ANU) is still determined to put Ghana among space Science nations in the world by designing and building an Amateur Satellite Ground Station by the end of March 2014. Aside being the first university to have successfully designed and build a miniature Satellite called CanSat in the sub-region, ANU intends being the first university to build a Satellite Ground Station. The building of the Ground Station which is currently under construction on the Premises of the University will have but not limited to the following functions: �to be used to track Amateur Satellite in orbit�, �to be used to Train engineers in Space and Satellite Engineering and �to be used for research purposes that will enhance both institutional and industrial activities in the sub-region�. Pledging the university�s support to commit resources into the project, the President of the University, Dr Samuel H.Donkor assured Ghanaians that ANU will strive to maintain its giant academic integrity. Dr Donkor said, ANU will pioneer this project in the sub-Sahara Africa, adding that the University will champion innovative projects to make Ghana and Africa proud. It will be recalled that the intelligent Space Systems Laboratory, ISSL,of All Nations University led by Mr Manfred Quarshie successfully launched a deployable Can Sat project recently.
