12 Aspirants Back-Out From Okaikoi North NPP Elections

Twelve New Patriotic Party (NPP) aspirants in the Okaikoi North constituency have withdrawn from the election process after calling for its suspension. Three others who earlier complained about the process have since joined in the process after meeting with the partys regional organizer, Archibald Kobina. The aggrieved aspirants are expected to present a challenge form to the national executives of the party after citing clear violation of the partys constitution in the organization of the elections. According to the aggrieved aspirants, the regional leadership has failed to duly exhibit the constituency album and make it available to aspirants 24 hours before the electoral process. Speaking to Citi News, the Okaikoi North Constituency assistant secretary, Emmanuel Lamptey said the election is flawed despite the decision of three of the aggrieved candidates to join in the process. He said: The electoral process has started but I requested from the commission officers a challenge form, she told me they dont have a challenge form because it is not a national election. She said I should write it on an A4 Sheet so I have done and have written the challenge for which we are backing out of the elections. The NPP Okaikoi North election is currently ongoing at the Teachers Experimental School at Nii Boi Town, Lapaz with 12 other contestants availing themselves to be elected for positions.
