Battle For 80% Votes In Ashanti Begins �. Wontumi Raid NDC Strongholds

THE NEWLY elected Regional Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako, aka Wontumi, is leaving no stone unturned in his quest to ensure victory for the party in the 2016 general elections. Few days after being elected into office, the 36-year-old business tycoon has started active underground campaign to interact with the various constituency executives in the Ashanti Region. Chairman Wontumi and his lieutenants began their tour this week at the Ejura Constituency where he interacted with the executives and outlined his vision and campaign plans to revitalize the party. The NPP Regional chairman, who has sworn to secure 80% of the total votes in the region and also snatch the four parliamentary seats currently being occupied by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) said there was no time for rest and that once he has assumed power, he would maintain the campaign momentum till 2016. He said, together with his executives, were bent on delivering massive votes for the NPP in 2016, stressing �the battle begins from now.� Chairman Wontumi presented the constituency executives with 10,000 pieces of NPP T-shirts to be distributed to party supporters in the constituency. Meanwhile, the newly-elected regional executives of the party have attended Prayer and Thanksgiving Services to express their appreciation and gratitude to God for their victory. The team, led by the Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, visited the Kumasi Central Mosque on Friday to pray and commit themselves to the Almighty. The executives joined hundreds of Muslims to observe the Friday Congregation Prayers after which special prayers and blessings were sought for the party and its leadership. The Regional NPP chairman stated that he was grateful to God for a successful conference held last week and prayed that God continues to protect the country and its citizens. He also sought prayers for the former Presidential Candidate of the party, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo, the running mate Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia and all supporters of the party.
