Hearts Coach Mohammed Polo Accuses Players of Making Job Difficult

Hearts of Oak coach Mohammed Polo has accused his players of making his effort at the helm untenable. Hearts lost the opener of the second round of the First Capital Plus League 0-3 to Wa All Stars in Accra on Wednesday, and Polo insists his charges disloyalty was to be blamed for their poor showing. Polo told GNA Sports after the game that The supporters have been divided since my appointment and sadly, they are using the players against me. The attitude of some of the players has been very bad since we began preparing for the second round. Some of the senior players failed to turn up for training as at the third week of resumption and the participation of others too was even worse. Since these players are registered for the league, there is little that can be done. The Phobians have labored to restore faith among supporters since the sacking of David Duncan late last year. Polo claims Disunity is costing the team a lot; the entire structure of the club is divided and that reflected in our game with All Stars today. At the time I was given the job, there was a lot of disagreement within the team. It is a difficult job but someone must do it. The former champions are fourth off the pace for the title with 27 points, seven less than perennial rivals, Asante Kotoko who have played a game less.
