Kwesi Appiah Advises Local Black Stars Players To Stay Grounded

Kwesi Appiah has advised players who played at the CHAN not to return to their clubs with over-bloated egos. Members of the Local Black Stars have been praised for reaching the final of the tournament despite failing to win against Libya. Appiah expects the 23-man to be emboldened by their achievement in South Africa. He wants the players to put lessons from the tournament to use as the Ghanaian top-flight makes a return after a long break. Their confidence level will naturally rise. At AFCON 2013, I selected about ten players who had no experience at that level. After the tournament, they returned to their clubs very confident. They dont have to feel big. They have to fight to be the best otherwise, they will make no effect, Appiah. I was generally delighted by their displays. Most of the countries brought their first teams, he added. Back home, our team could be the third-tier Black Stars but look at how they competed against some of the best on the continent. I think the standard of play was really good. The Ghana Premier League resumed last Wednesday but only few were released to join their clubs.
