Felix Ofosu Kwakye Jabs Media For Rejecting Mahama

The Deputy Minister of Information, Felix Ofosu Kwakye, has descended heavily on media practitioners in the country for failing to use their platforms to broadcast government�s good works. He stated emphatically that the Mahama-led administration had done a yeoman�s job to improve the lives of the citizenry since its assumption to power. The Deputy Minister, however, bemoaned that the media had so far failed woefully to trumpet government�s good works so that the masses would appreciate and laud the government. Mr Ofosu Kwakye pointed out that �the media practitioners in the country are taking a delight in using their powerful medium to propagate sensationalism stories at the expense of the government�s good works.� The Deputy Minister who was on a familiarization tour to outlets under his Ministry in the region took advantage of the meeting to interact with media practitioners in Kumasi at the Regional Coordinating Council. The meeting which saw the Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister Samuel Yaw Adusei also in attendance, was aimed at making it possible for the deputy Information Minister to highlight government�s good works to the media. Mr Ofosu Kwakye charged the media to begin to broadcast and publish the landmark successes of the government, insisting that Mahama�s administration was performing excellently. He noted that in area of security, the government�s intervention had placed the security agencies at the right position to protect the people, stressing that �the country is now peaceful and safer for our people to transact their legal activities.� According to him, the infrastructural base of educational and health sectors have also been improved significantly under the current administration, noting that the government deserved to be applauded.
