Ekow Manly-Spain Is Hot

The Greater Accra regional executives of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) have stated that it does not have records of any person called Henry Ekow Manly-Spain. According to Regional Executives, they do not know which ward, branch or constituency Manly-Spain belongs to or which position he holds in the party. We have taken note of the personality attacks on the Regional Chairman and Executives in newspapers, the Regional Secretariat said in a press statement issued yesterday in Accra. According to the party, Mr. Manly-Spain has been parading himself over the last three months as an aspiring candidate for the position of Greater Accra Regional chairman of the NDC, showing no regards to the rules of engagement. What we know of him is that, he has panache of distributing chicken wings, fish and GH1, 000.00 to constituencies he visits with any locus standing, the party revealed. The party further debunked allegations that it was due to his [Manly-Spain] efforts that the party won the Greater Accra election saying it is fraudulent, false and preposterous and further challenged him to tell the world the contributions he made. In Greater Accra, we have the Regional Executives, the Regional Caucus, the Constituency and Zongo Caucus etc. The effort to win the elections were made with the tacit effort of all the above-mentioned agencies, who worked tirelessly from the registration of voters to training of polling agents and mounting of platforms; closing as late as 4 A.M. with the candidates, nowhere was the self-styled so called financier, the statement stressed. Mr. Manly-Spain is alleged to have promised former TV3 newscaster, Gideon Aryequaye, in his quest to become a parliamentary candidate but failed to even feed the delegates who assembled at Maximum Gym at Dansoman in Accra. Mr. Manly-Spain is not a team player; he could not even manage Bukom Banku. His actions are not only divisive but contrary to the regulation of the party, the statement concluded. It will be recalled that Mr. Manly-Spain told Accra-based Metro TV on February 10, 2014 that the [Greater Accra Region] has failed in its duties and that the 2012 general elections was won on not any work done by the regional executives but by the charisma of President John Dramani Mahama.
