Ghanaians Are Starving Under NDC-Nana Konadu

The former First Lady and founder of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, says the poor performance of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration has left many Ghanaians hungry and frustrated. She noted that governance has now been reduced to lies and empty propaganda, brushing aside the real issues that are affecting the social and economic development of the people. Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings said rather than being analytic about issues and employing pragmatic measures that will solve the problems bedeviling Ghanaians, public officials have resorted to the use of lies and propaganda, maligning and insulting people who disagree with them. Speaking to party faithfuls in Kumasi on Saturday, the former First Lady said Ghanaians were going through serious economic hardships as a result of the governments insensitivity and stiffer measures. Making reference to the recent financial policies introduced by the Bank of Ghana (BoG) to deal with the free fall of the cedi, Nana Konadu said though the policy ordered banks not to borrow in dollars, government itself was borrowing in foreign currencies, a development which she said, cast doubts on the credibility of the policy. She noted that the government does not care about the feelings and worries of numerous Ghanaians, adding that public officials continue day in and day out to lead extravagant lifestyles. Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings said it was worrying that prominent personalities in the country, including chiefs, lawyers, pastors and Imams have failed to tell the government the truth about the harsh economic situations currently prevailing in Ghana. All of a sudden everyone has gone dumb; we are all sitting and watching the NDC use lies and propaganda to rule this country and is like we are swallowing everything they say hook, line and sinker,
