Nana Akufo Addo To Return From Exile Soon

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is set to return from his self-imposed exile in London at the end of this month. The return of the 2008-2012 President candidate of largest opposition, the New Patriotic Partys (NPP), is at the behest of some Members of Parliament and certain key party members. A trustworthy sources close to the twice-defeated Presidential candidate told The Enquirer newspaper last Friday that the move to bring Nana Addo from his newly-found comfort zone was because of certain machinations currently going on within the NPP. According to the source, some of the contestants for various national positions are going round peddling falsehood about Nana Addo and people closer to him, who are also contesting for positions. The source said that Nana Addo had indeed listened to the voices within the party and would definitely touch down by the end of the month. Nana Addo decided to take a long political rest, as his much-cherished dream of getting the Supreme Court to overturn the victory of President John Mahama in the 2012 did not materialize. The Supreme Court indeed affirmed President Mahamas victory at the end of tortuous months of hearing the election petition. Nana Addo, after accepting the verdict, although he disagreed with it, announced his leave from active politicking and flew to the United Kingdom. He was scheduled to return home last January but postponed his trip. His handlers claimed that the postponed his coming because he did not want to have anything to do with the impending search of national executives for his party. The source, however, tells the 'Enquirer' that Nana was on top of issues within the party and was fully aware of the machinations against him. I can tell you for sure that Nana Addo is coming down because of how certain aspirants are running him down to delegates, the source said. According to the source, the decision by Nana Addo to stay away from the present search for national executives was not the best as other gurus are playing some rough tactics against persons perceived to be his men. The source told The Enquirer that some MPs and other leading members of the party who are angry at what is going on are those who asked Nana Addo to come down.
