National Organizer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Boateng Gyan, has launched a scathing attack on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for laying blame at the doorstep of the ruling party as brains behind accusations that the opposition party is Akan-biased. His attack follows claims by a leading member of the NPP, Capt. Nkrabeah Effah-Dartey (rtd) that the NDC are the architects of the tribal card propaganda hanging across the neck of the NPP like an albatross. Responding to this on Okay FM, Mr. Boateng Gyan said it was totally out of place for the NPP to sow and nurture its own tribal seeds and then turn around to lay blame on an �innocent� NDC. "...NPP is neck-deep in tribalism...they can not wash it off that easily...," the Presidential Staffer said. He further stressed that a careful analysis on how flagbearers are selected within the NPP will lead one to safely arrive at the conclusion that only �Akyems� and �Ashantis� are selected. The soft-spoken NDC National Organiser alleged even when the late former president Busia was leader of the country, the Akans in Ashanti region denigrated him by comparing him to human excreta. �In Kumasi, they used to say that where from this mushroom that has germinated out of sh#t. And this was in reference to Busia,� he said. He challenged the NPP remove the shackles of tribalism from their feet by selecting flagbearers from other regions just like the NDC has been doing. �Within the NDC, we have had our flagbearers coming from the Volta Region, Central Region and currently our leader is from the Northern Region....but this isn�t the same story within the NPP,� he noted.
