Drivers Mate Stabs 16 year Old Fiance To Death

Angry youth at Ohwin, near Bohyen in the Kumasi Metropolis, have threatened to lynch a driver's mate, 19 year old Kwame Akosah, suspected to have stabbed his 16 year old fiance to death. The incident occurred at about 11pm Sunday following a heated verbal exchange between the two. The deceased, Nana Ama, is said to have requested an end to their relationship, to escape from constant physical assault on her at the least provocation. But this angered the boyfriend who stabbed Nana Ama severally. Ultimate Radio gathered, that the deceased, a school-dropout, was virtually married to the suspect as she lived with him. Their union was known to many in the community including their guardians who could not do much to separate them. The suspect, who realized Nana Ama had died, fled the town after committing the heinous crime. The victim whose intestines gushed out died later on Monday morning at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi. The mother of the deceased, Doris Biamah, who was traumatized recounted to Ultimate Radio, how she heard the news. I had a call that Nana Ama had been stubbed by a guy. I didnt believe the story until I got there and saw her intestines gushed out. She was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching hospital. Earlier this morning, I went to the hospital to see her, but as soon as I got there, I met my sister but she didnt tell me my daughter was dead. I was later called and informed that my daughter was dead. My daughter was very stubborn and never listened to my advice. She is my only child and as I speak to you, my heart aches she lamented. She told Ultimate Radios Joseph Oppong Brenya, that she wants the police to apprehend the suspect and bring him to book. The suspects Grandmother, an 85 year old woman, was forced to pass the night in the bush as the angry youth of the community threatened to kill her in retaliation for her grandsons crime since he is on the run. The youth who stormed her house after the incident demanded that she either gave up her grandson or be killed. I was asleep when I heard people banging the main gate of my house saying they will destroy the house. The youth came here and said they will kill me and everyone else in this house if we didnt produce my grandson. I can swear that for the past three days, I have not seen my grandson. When they threatened to kill me, I didnt know where to go and I sought refuge in the bush the traumatized eighty-five year old woman narrated. The frail-looking old woman, who had spent Sunday night in the bush, was only assisted by some persons in the community back to the community on Monday morning. As at the time of filling this report, the youth of the time, were massing up to search for the suspect. This attempted killing comes at a time when two suspected criminals were lynched in the Kumasi metropolis in separate incidents. When contacted, the police at Asuofia confirmed the incident to Ultimate Radio but could not immediately give further details as investigations have just commenced into the matter.
