Govt's Free Senior High School Will Be A Fiasco - NAGRAT

The National Association of Graduate Teachers, (NAGRAT), has raised a red flag about the free Senior High School education proposed by governments. According to them, it is going to lower the standard of education. Moreover some schools now enjoying the Free Senior High School are poorly resourced by government, how much more the whole country? Speaking to HELLO FM's King Edward this morning, the National president of NAGRAT, Mr. Christian Addai Poku bemoaned that he does not see government's commitment to provide the Free Senior High School to Ghanians and that it is going to be a fiasco. Look, as we talk now, most of the Senior High schools in the country lack proper infrastructure - government Subventions that are supposed to be paid by government have still not been paid, even common chalk that is used to teach these children are inadequate, he explained. He added that if government says it is going to provide free SHS, then it should be ready to provide infrastructure - but "I don't think it will be possible", he added.
