JM Lights Fire In Water

Scientifically and naturally, fire cannot survive in water. Water overcomes fire. Biblical Elijah was the only person recorded in history to have overcome water with fire! Yesterday, God afforded President John Mahama the opportunity to be the second person in history to use fire to overcome water when amidst heavy rain at the Independence Square, President Mahama lit the perpetual flame! It was an amazing sight as the President lit the flame in the rain, with the former continuing to burn with zest while the rest of the proceedings were carried on. The heavy down-pour saw pupils and students who had come to march being asked to take shelter under the canopies and roof of sheds at the square. It also afforded Ghanaians to see how prepared the Ghana Armed Forces are to defend the nation come sun, come rain. Amidst the heavy down pour, the army, navy, air force, police, customs, immigration, prisons and fire service resolutely marched pass the dais, displaying their physical fitness and the nations military prowess. President Mahama who took the salute in a speech later on refereed to the rain as showers of blessings but said it was indicative that the Ghana Meteorological Services needs to sharpen its skills. President Mahama also called on Ghanaians to make economic prosperity possible by patronizing made in Ghana goods. He also called on Ghanaians to stay united saying it is the unity in diversity that continues to attract others to the country.
