Plans are underway by Kasapreko Company Limited to cultivate a herbal plantation to ensure that raw materials needed for the manufacture of its products are grown here.
This is to enable the company to have access to the required herbal plants with the requisite medicinal values to produce its beverages, the Chief Executive Officer of KCL, Dr Kwabena Adjei, disclosed this when the company introduced three new alcoholic products onto the Ghanaian market as part of its plan to boost its operations.
The new products are Barman Herbal Gin, Classic Magarita Lime and K20 Whisky.
The function, which was held at the premises of the KCL head office in Accra, attracted the company�s distributors, wholesalers, retailers, barmen, staff and residents of Spintex Road and its surrounding communities.
The occasion was also witnessed by Ghanaian musicians and comedians who entertained the people.
Dr Adjei said the move was aimed at making the products more affordable for the company�s numerous consumers.
He said Barman Herbal Gin �is a mature blend with the essence of herbs and spices from the Ghanaian traditional folklore with healing properties that deliver functional and nutritional benefits�.
The K20 Whisky, Dr Adjei said had been on the market for over three years but was only available in 200ml and 50ml sachets.
Touching on the Classic Margarita Lime, the CEO said the drink was a blend of fresh lime, flavoured liqueur mixed with gin, adding that �it is the first of its kind in Ghana with a sweet aroma�.
Dr Adjei urged Ghanaians to support indigenous companies to grow and expand their operations by patronising local products.
