Call For Tweaa DCEs ReinstatementGen Mosquito Committed A Grave Mistake

National Democratic Congress (NDC) Central Regional Communications Director, Bernard Allotey Jacobs has described as unfortunate the call by his partys National Executive Committee (NEC) on President John Dramani Mahama to reinstate sacked Ahafo Ano South District Chief Executive (DCE), Gabriel Barima. According to him, a statement which was signed by its partys chief scribe, Johnson Asiedu Nketia to President John Dramani Mahama needs not have been made public. He calls it a grave mistake on the part of Asiedu Nketia. The NDCs NEC, in a statement issued on Sunday March 30, 2014, asked the President to reconsider his decision and reinstate Hon. Gabriel Barima. Barima was first forgiven after storming out of a public event when a member of the audience heckled him. He quickly shot to fame after that incident and the word tweaa gain international recognition. The Ahafo Ano DCE was fired a month later after he was heard describing his gaffe as an achievement in an interview with an Accra based radio station. But a statement from the NDC signed by Johnson Asiedu Nketiah also known as General Mosquito said the apparent unapologetic interview which cost the DCE his job, was not an interview, but rather a secretly recorded conversation which was leaked to the press. Discussing the issue on Adom FM, Tuesday, Allotey Jacobs noted that the contents of the petition being made public was an error. Sometimes we do mistakes and this is a mistake from the general secretary and the NEC members. This shouldnt have come out in the public domainit is not good; it is not for public consumption. This should have been done behind the scene. We should at least respect the presidency and the authority of the president. If we make this public and people read meanings into it, it will undermine the authority of the president because the president has already taken his final decision and we must respect that. They (NEC and the General Secretary) should have managed this behind the scenes than making it public, he said.
