Oil And Gas Summit Opens Next Week

The 5th Ghana Oil and Gas Summit, an internationally event, will open in Accra from Tuesday, April 8 to Thursday, April 10 at the Accra International Conference Centre. The summit, which is regarded as the most established oil and gas conference and exhibition in Ghana, is expected to be opened by President John Dramani Mahama. Key speakers include the Minister of Energy, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, Alex Mould, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, Theo Ahwering, CEO of the Petroleum Commission, Dr George Sipa-Adjah Yankey, CEO of the Ghana National Gas Company and Terry Hughes, Director, Project Ten, Tullow Oil. Organised by CWC Group in partnership with Kros Ghana, the three-day exhibition is expected to attract about 100 exhibitors. �The Ghana Summit 2014 will once again unite international and regional experts, key decision makers, contractors and service providers under one roof to discuss the future of the energy sector in Ghana,� Willy Olsen, Associate Director of the CWC Group was quoted as saying in a news release. According to the release, the conference will focus on topics such as maximising the potential of gas, upstream, challenges and opportunities, local content, showcasing Ghana�s investment potential, update on the Volta Basin and a special Project TEN showcase. Gurpreet Hayre, Senior Project Manager, The CWC Group, added that �this year there will be an increased focus on local content and opportunities available to indigenous Ghanaian companies in the oil and gas space, a topic which is particularly important at present following the recent enactment of the Local Content Bill. Delegates will hear directly from successful Ghanaian oil and gas entrepreneurs on their success stories and how they overcame challenges faced.� The Ghana Oil and Gas Summit and Exhibition was first organised by CWC Group in 2010 and has since become the most established oil and gas event in Ghana, cementing its place on the calendar of industry experts. The event has been endorsed by the Ghana Government, GNPC, Ghana Gas Company Limited, ECG, VRA and GRIDCO.
