Reinstate Tweaa DCE And Do Same For Vicky Hammah

A National Democratic Congress group calling itself the Concerned Youth of Ahafo Ano South Constituency in the Ashanti Region, has condemned a petition by the National Executive Committee of the NDC, demanding the reinstatement of the Tweaa DCE, Gabriel Barima. The partys NEC is said to have written to the President claiming the former DCE was unjustifiably removed at the expense of his hard work and commitment to fight corruption. But the youth group is unhappy with the latest campaign being spearheaded by the partys General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia, popularly referred to as General Mosquito. Speaking to Ultimate Radio, Chairman of the group, Halim Salifu, indicated that their investigations suggest that there wasnt any NEC meeting to that effect and that Mr. Gabriel Barima was pulling the strings behind the scene to have his reinstatement championed by the party. According to the group, several other party and government functionaries have suffered similar fates and if the party claims to be fair in their petition to the president, they should prove it by extending the same amount of concern to all such individuals. He is not the only person who has ever worked for the party. Victoria Hamah was sacked due to leakage of some tapes of secret recordings. Kofi Adams suffered a similar fate as well as some others like Moses Asaga and Betty Molds Idrisu he outlined. Meanwhile the Concerned Youth of Ahafo Ano South Constituency has expressed strong reservation over the beating up of a journalist of Kumasi-based Hello fm who was invited to cover their press conference that sought to condemn calls for the former DCEs reinstatement. Confirming the incident to Ultimate Radio, Halim Salifu recounted with regret that when the journalist alighted from the bus, a youth organizer of the party Rauf Rahman ordered some men to pounce on him. He was beaten mercilessly and later given a medical form by the police to visit the hospital. The Youth Organizer of the NDC and another believed to be supporters of the Tweaa DCE, were arrested by the Mankranso Police for assaulting the journalist. But the group mainly made up of party foot soldiers and polling station executives say they do not want Mr. Gabriel Barima back. They warned they will not offer their services to campaign for the National Democratic Congress come 2016.
