Yaw Buaben Asamoa Is Incorruptible

The New Patriotic Partys is scheduled to hold its National Delegates Congress in less than 10 days, as candidates vying for the various positions are putting final touches to their campaigns across the country. Interestingly, Ghanaians have taken a keen interest in the recent happenings in the NPP. According to a Kumasi based radio presenter, Confidence Kwadwo Baah, the General Secretary position is the most competitive position in the national executive elections. He described the position of National Chairman as the ceremonial head whilst the General Secretary is the Prime Minister. He said "it is very important that people know the position of the General Secretary. He is the anchor who brings all executives together to get things done. He is more visible than the others. Take a look at Lawyer Yaw Buaben Asamoa, one of the candidates. This legal brain is a brilliant communicator. He can easily persuade you. I've met him a couple of times and I totally fell in love with him by just listening. He is a co-founder of the Ghana Integrity Initiative and Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition but I've been told that he is stingy. That notwithstanding, it goes to show he is a principled and incorruptible leader. He was a Spokesperson to former Vice President, the late Alhaji Aliu Mahama. With his varied expertise, he also became a Consultant and Governance Advisor to the Office of H.E John Agyekum Kufuor. Mr. Buaben Asamoa was a Deputy Director of Campaign Communication for Nana Akufo- Addo in the 2012 Elections and a Spokesperson of the NPP Legal team for the 2012 Election Petition at the Supreme Court. He also has vast experience in the media." Mr. Confidence K. Baah then described the incumbent Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie as happy-go-lucky who appeals to the grassroots. "In effect, Sir John is the one who can match the National Democratic Congress' Johnson Asiedu Nketia boot for boot when he is required to but he can be uncouth sometimes. We should not forget that this supposed 'uncouthness' is what got the grassroots to vote him in 2010 but is that going to be enough for Tamale?" the Kessben FM presenter asked. He commended Lawyer Buaben Asamoa for running a clean campaign thus far based on unity and protecting the ballot in 2016. He said "the unity to protect the ballot theme is catchy and needed by the party going into election 2016."
