What Has Richard Nyamah And His Campaign Team Been Doing All This While?

it baffles my imagination how Richard Nyamah thinks now is the time to show his speaking skills; what he looks like and what he can do for the party. What has he and his campaign team been doing for the past six months? queried acting Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Perry Okudzeto. With just four days to the Tamale-Congress, temperature continues to rise in the NPP as an aspiring National Youth Organiser, Richard Nyamah has threatened court action if the party insists on not allowing contestants to speak during the delegates Conference. According to Mr Nyamah, we need to put what we have to displaywhat I have, what I have done and what I am doing can easily be displayed and people will be convinced when I am given the opportunity to address them. If we are given 1 or 2 minutes to address the delegates, it wont hurt a flythe solidarity messages can be cut down. But responding to this in an interview on Citi Eye Witness News, Perry expressed outrage at the posture of Richard Nyamah saying, I am scandalized in a sense that I do not see the head and tail in the issues that Richard has sought to make. He said the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party held a meeting and decided that due to time constraints, it will be impossible to have all 44 aspirants address delegates before voting commences, adding that we took into consideration a lot of factors. Looking at how Richard Nyamah is so insistent on addressing delegates on the D-day, Perry wonders what he and his campaign team have been doing all this while. When the curtains are drawn on campaigning you cannot go and make speeches anywhere. We have 44 aspirants contesting for various positions; if we are going to give even 2 or 5 minutes to each contestant, it will take a chunk of the time away. Richard Nyamah should understand that we operate in a democracy, he pointed out. According to him, guidelines for the 2014 congress stipulates that by 5pm, Friday, 11th April 2014, every campaigning should be closed and this is known to all the contestants. Perry also added that until Richard goes through the various procedures of addressing grievances in the NPP, he cannot go to court and even if he insists, he can be sanctioned by the party. I dont know where he is coming from. Our party is a party of rulesthere are grievance procedures in this party and Richard would have to satisfy them before he goes to court.
