MTN Ghana, the leading telecommunications service provider in Ghana is connecting with its customers once again through the launch of a new promotion meant to excite customers as a build up to the football season.
The promotion dubbed �MTN Go Rio� seeks to reward customers for the next four months with prizes including Kia Rio Saloon cars, an all-expense paid trip to Brazil, 32� (inches) Samsung LED TVs, Samsung Galaxy Tablets, Samsung S3 mini handset, Huawei Y220 Ascend phones and free airtime.
Thousands of prizes are up for grabs during the entire period of the promotion. The promotion ends in June 2014.
As part of the promotion, MTN will notify subscribers of unique point-based usage targets through text messages. Subscribers are encouraged to meet or exceed monthly usage targets and those with the highest points per target set, get the opportunity to win any of the prizes at stake each month. Subscribers who reach their set targets will receive airtime bonus.
Mr. Rahul De, Chief Marketing Officer of MTN, noted that MTN recognizes that football is a passion for most of the company�s subscribers, and as a build up to the world�s football season MTN is taking the opportunity to excite its subscriber�s through the �MTN Go Rio� promotion.
Mr. De said, �Through this promotion which forms part of the Bola Celebration, we will share in subscribers� passion and commitment to the beautiful game of football and thus fulfil our mission of making the lives of our customers a whole lot brighter.�
He added that, �The MTN Go Rio promotion is not a text and win game, meaning that there is no activation or subscription required. All we are saying is that if you spend a little more on Voice, Data and SMS than you usually do and accumulate more points, you could win some fantastic prizes.�
Subscribers can check their point totals by dialing *120#. Prize presentations to winners will be done monthly, in April, May, June and finally in July 2014. Identified winners will be contacted through a phone call from MTN�s official number 0244300000 only (and not via SMS or short code).
The list of winners will also be published in the dailies and on MTN�s official corporate website, www.mtn.com.gh.
The �MTN Go Rio Promo� is a mixed bag of football-themed activities to give customers a totally unique experience as we celebrate MTN and football -- the passion of the nation. These include exciting participatory experiential activities across the country.
