Promoter Gives Up On Ayittey Powers

Box Office Sports Promotions, promoters of the much publicised bout between Michael Ayittey Powers Okine and Braimah Bukom Banku Kamoko have given up on the fight, saying they have taken the former out of their plans. Alex Ntiamoah Boateng, Chief Executive Officer of Box Office Sports Promotions, told the GNA Sports that, he has ruled Ayittey Powers out of his plans and making alternative arrangements for the May 16, fight. I am not thinking about Powers anymore, because he failed to sign the supplementary contract presented to him on Tuesday and that made me convinced that, he was not interested in the fight. We have received requests from some boxers who are ready to fight Bukom Banku and we are seriously looking at these options to save the night. He stated. Ntiamoah Boateng said, they will soon announce an opponent for Bukom Banku, after they have concluded negotiations with an opponent for him. He said his outfit will proceed with the bout on May 16 as scheduled, but with a different opponent since they cannot afford to disappoint the numerous Ghanaians who expressed interest in the fight. According to Ntiamoah Boateng, all advanced tickets sold remain valid, but added that, those who will request for a refund will be granted. Ntiamoah, said though they were disappointed in the turn of events, they are convinced Ghanaians will be given a good show on May 16.
