NPP Elections: Asabee Backs Kwabena Agyapong Tells Sir John, Your Duty Was Not To Fight Asiedu Nketia

Former Minister for Information under the erstwhile Kufuor administration Stephen Asamoah Boateng has posited that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary position is not an office to always react to unnecessary utterances from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDCs) Chief Scribe, Johnson Asiedu Nketia. According to him, the NPP now needs to change its General Secretary more than ever, adding that, though Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie also known as Sir John did a wonderful job when he occupied that position, he wasted much time battling Johnson Asiedu Nketia. Ahead of the NPPs National Delegates Conference in Tamale, Mr. Asamoah Boateng believes Kwabena Agyapong, who is vying for Sir Johns seat is the best candidate for the job. He described Mr. Agyapongs near-fatal accident as unfortunate but noted that his chance of winning the opposition is high. Its our prayers that, he (Kwabena Agyapong) will be at the congress grounds to witness what will happen there. What makes democracy interesting is when you have someone you support during an election like this. Though we all have our differencesI believe Kwabena can do the job, he said. Stephen Asamoah Boateng also known as Asabee who seems to agree with outspoken NPP MP for Assin Central Kennedy Agyapong that all the incumbent executives must be voted out, opined that Our incumbent national executive must go so we have new people, new ideas and new vision in the party so we can win power from the incompetent NDC. I think Kwabena can do that as the General Secretary. Speaking on Adom FM, Asabee said Sir John is my good friendand he has done very well for the party but for now I think he has to take a back seat. What he has to know is that, the party is not battling Asiedu Nketia but that is how he (Sir John) sees it. That wasnt his duty.
