Medeama Defeat Okwawu To Keep Cup Dreams Alive

Medeama and Aduana Stars are through to the quarter-finals of the MTN FA Cup after winning their outstanding last-16 fixtures on Sunday. Medeama will meet Feyenoord in the last eight later this month after advancing past Okwawu United. The title holders defeated Okwawu 1-0 at the Nkwakaw Park to progress and keep alive their dreams of retaining the Cup. A first half goal by Hans Kwofie handed the Mauves the slim victory. And they will now come up against Feyenoord, who are unbeaten this season after completing the Division One league on top of their zone. In other last-16 fixture, Aduana Stars edged Bechem United 4-2 on penalties at the Agyemang Badu Park. Aduana will now meet King Faisal for a place in the semi-final. Both sides finished regulation time 1-1 apiece after Richard Addai scored the equaliser for Aduana to cancel out Johnson Nyamekye's opener for Bechem.
