NPP Election Was A Vote Of No Confidence

A Political Science Lecturer at the University of Ghana, Dr. Aggrey Darko has described the New Patriotic Partys (NPP) election of party executives as a serious vote of no confidence in the old executives. According to him, the election which witnessed a total replacement of all old executives with the exception of one is a clear indication that party members were fed up with the excuses by the partys old executives. If you look at what has happened, it is a total overhaul of the partys executives. It is a serious vote of no confidence and a clear indication that the party members are not prepared to accept excuses for the failure of the old executives. They feel that a new crop of players should come on board The NPPs election of party executives witnessed a wind of change as most of the old executives were voted out and replaced with new executives during the partys National Delegates Conference. Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show, Mr. Darko explained that the tremendous change in the partys executives happened because delegates identified the need to invigorate, revitalize, retool its executives as s a means of ensuring whether they can provide the necessary catalyst that will spearhead and guarantee the partys victory in 2016. Any political action is motivated by two things; the desire to change or preserve. When you want to preserve something, then you want to preserve it from going waste or preserving it from destruction. When you want to change, then you want to change it for the better. Any decision is motivated by the desire to change or to preserve, he further explained. He also stated that the partys desire to win elections in 2016, compelled it to replace most of the old executives with new ones. In that regard, he emphasized the need for the party to re-strategize its policies to ensure victory in 2016.
