Member of Parliament for Tema East Constituency on the ticket of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Hon. Titus Glover has debunked the perception that the emergence of Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyapong as the main force of NPP will derail Nana Akufo-Addo�s presidential ambition, saying the twice defeated Presidential Candidate still holds the pivotal position. According to Hon. Titus Glover, the issue raised that the newly elected NPP Chairman, Paul Afoko and General Secretary, Kwabena Agyapong hold the integral position in the party, and will undermine Nana Addo�s chance is a nonstarter as the Chairman after winning his position stated that he is an independent minded person, seeking power for NPP as his priority. He hinted that Paul Afoko after the conference visited Nana Akufo-Addo to discuss issues, adding that this goes to prove a point that he (Afoko) acknowledges Nana Addo as a person who plays a crucial role in the party, adding the party�s focus is not on the presidential position but rather to come up with a strategy that will help the Flagbearer the party will choose to win power in 2016. �Paul Afoko is focusing on the ultimate which is rallying all NPP supporters and the future Presidential Candidate to wrestle power from the NDC�, he asserted on Okay Fm�s Ghana Decides program. �Assuming without admitting that Paul Afoko is coming from a different camp and he is not going to flow with Nana Addo, his responsibility is to team up with Nana Addo because whether we like it or not Nana Akufo Addo will be the Flagbearer; it is an open secret in the party but there is no problem if others want to contest him because it will make the competition beautiful��you don�t need anybody to tell you that Akufo Addo still continue to be the heart and soul of this party�, Hon. Titus Glover pontificated. He however disagreed with Hon. Asamoah Boateng on the score that popularity does not count in politics, saying it is impossible to use 3 months to override the popularity of Nana Akufo Addo in Ghana as he (Nana Addo) remains the most popular in the country.
