Call For Respect Among Politicians; Mahama Is Spot-On - MFWA

The Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), Sulemana Braimah, says the president's call for political opponents to show respect to each other is in the right direction. President John Dramani Mahama on Tuesday, indicated that the use of insults persists, and has characterized the countrys politics. Speaking at the Flagstaff House, President Mahama said it is about time politicians saw themselves as friends and not enemies. Meanwhile, the Executive Director of MFWA noted that the use of indecent language come up during political seasons, but where the act goes out of hand, it becomes an issue of concern. During political campaign seasons, there was a key concern about the use of insults by politicians from all shades of the political divide. Throughout the political season, MFWA launched a campaign to stop the use of insulting language in the media by seeking to name and shame politicians engaging in such activity.
