Prez Mahama Lacks Proper Understanding of The Economy

Hon. Mark Asibey Yeboah, the NPP Member of Parliament for New Juabeng South has described President John Mahamas understanding of the country's economic situation "leaves much to be desired". In an interview with NEAT FMs, Adakabre Frimpong Manso, Hon. Asibey Yeboah disclosed that he could not believe his ears upon hearing the President stating that due to measures put in place by his administration, the economy will turnaround by the end of the year. Touching on concerns that some of his administrations economic policies were harsh and had made life difficult for Ghanaians, the President said in his May day speech that; I assure you my countrymen and women that these measures are achieving the desired effect and the economy is gradually responding. ..This year is a turn-around year for Ghana and I am positive that the Ghanaian economy will show strong signs of recovery by the end of this fiscal year, he added. But Hon. Asibey Yeboah is of the view that this statement underscores the fact that President Mahama lacks the in-depth understanding of economic matters. His understanding of the subject leaves much to be desired because all the indicators have proven otherwise.
