Otumfuo Lauds HFC Bank For Growing Mortgage Market

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has lauded HFC Bank (Ghana) Ltd for being committed to making customers the centre of its business. Otumfuo said with its history as a home finance company, the bank had been very instrumental in the development of the mortgage industry, providing innovative products that cut across its varied customer base. Otumfuo Osei Tutu said this when the management of the HFC Bank paid a courtesy call on him at his Manhyia Palace in Kumasi last Wednesday. The delegation was led by Nana Agyei Duku, the Board Chairman, and included Mr Asare Akuffo, the Managing Director; Mr Osei Asafo Adjei, Executive-Director in charge of Corporate Banking; Mr Charles Bonsu, General Manager in charge of Mortgage and Consumer Loans and Mr Lord Koramoa, Head of Marketing. The visit was to congratulate the Asantehene on his 15th anniversary as the 16th occupant of the Golden Stool. The Asantehene urged management and staff of the bank to aspire to excell in their operations, especially in commercial, investment and mortgage banking, as well as microfinance. That, he said, was necessary for the bank to retain its reputation as one of the most diversified financial institutions in the country. As part of the visit, the delegation presented traditional drinks and a cheque for GH50,000 towards the celebration of the anniversary and the upcoming Otumfuo Special Golf Tournament slated for Kumasi. The Asantehene said the Manhyia Palace would continue to support the bank to achieve its mission. For his part, Mr Akuffo said four of its 35 branches were in Kumasi. The bank is also financing the construction of a modern and multi-purpose shopping mall at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology to facilitate business activities on campus. Mr Akuffo also hailed Otumfuo Osei Tutu for being development-oriented, saying his 15-year rule has seen him initiate many viable projects and programmes to raise the standard of living of his people.
