A member of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communication Machinery, Godwin Ako-Gunn has called on Deputy Minority Leader of Parliament, Hon. Dominic Nitiwul to render unqualified apology to the Managing Director of Stanbic Bank, Mr Alhassan Andani. This was after the Stanbic Bank MD denied being the Chair of Rlg Foundation, and also pointed out that there is no such thing as Rlg Foundation. Hon. Dominic Nitiwul accused the immediate past Board chairman of the Savanna Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) Alhassan Andani of serious conflict of interest. According to the NPP MP, Mr. Andani placed himself in a conflict of interest situation when as the Managing Director of Stanbic he allowed 74.5 million cedis of SADA money to put into a call account at the bank. Beyond that, he claimed Mr. Alhassan Andani did not do himself any favor when he chaired the RLG Foundation but allowed a chunk of SADA's investment to go into the activities of the AGAMs Group of companies of which RLG is the flagship company. But speaking on OKAY FM�s Ghana Decides program, the NDC Communicator noted that Hon. Dominic Nitiwul has not been fair to the Stanbic MD. He averred that in spite of the fact that Mr Andani is the Board Chair of SADA, it must also be established that there is no correlation between the management of the bank and the board he served on since his responsibility was limited to only a supervisory role. He however urged the NPP MP for Bimbilla Constituency to check his facts before making such wild allegations. �Dominic Nitiwul should do a lot of checks before making such claims but if you allege in a vacuum without any backing then it is worrisome�.I will be happy that Nitiwul will accept that he got it wrong and apologize for it,� he urged. Responding to this in a telephone conversation, Hon. Nitiwul maintained that Alhassan Andani has always been the Board Chairman of Rlg until his name was recently taken from the company�s website. He further alleged that the same Andani is a board member of Zoomlion Company that benefitted from the SADA contract to supply tractors for a project in the Northern Region to the tune of 19 million cedis which has not been properly accounted for in their report.
