THE HEAD Pastor of Spring Life Chapel International at Dansoman Last Stop, Reverend Eric Brew has taken a sharp bite at politicians in the country describing them as lacking the spirit of sacrifice in ensuring the development and economic stability of the nation.
He said after 57 years of independent, Ghana still lacks basic necessities such as portable drinking water, poor health care system, lack of regular electricity supply, extreme poverty and hunger in certain parts of the country and many others because opinion leaders do not exhibit high level of sacrifice to ensure the security of the nation.
The Rev. Minister said Ghanaians lack the spirit of sacrifice and commitment that is why political groups and certain individuals have sold state property and pay huge sums of money to unqualified people because of their selfish personal benefit.
Rev. Brew lamented that political leaders lack the spirit of sacrifice; they rather spend huge sums of monies that are supposed to be used to revive industries and create jobs for the jobless in society, but rather end up in the pocket of certain individuals.
Speaking at the three-day Leadership Conference dubbed �What Are You Willing to Sacrifice� said one scarify Jesus did had the power to save the whole world from condemnation, but Christians and Ghanaians in general lack this spirit.
�Most of our state industries, companies and property are being sold to foreigners because political leaders do not show the spirit of sacrifice.
�It is time we all take queue from the selfless scarify Jesus portrays that paved way for all Christians and opinion leaders to emulate than paying lip services,� he said.
The man of God said like Abraham, he was ready to sacrifice what was so dear to his heart, but �what do we see in our leaders they preach sacrifice, but refuse to scarify their own resources and materials in the absence of the nation, but rather end up looting the little left for the state.�
Touching on the issue of filth in the country, the man of God said because there is no sense of sacrifice in Ghanaians, they are waiting for government�s intervention to sweep their surroundings instead of coming together in the spirit of communism and sacrifice to live healthy.
He, therefore, appealed to the clergy to value the calling instead of engaging in politics and other shameful acts that bring disrepute to the name and focus on speaking the word to change the corrupt trend in the country.
