Hearts of Oak Targeting A Major Sponsorship Deal For 2014/15 Season, Togbui Afede Reveals

Board chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak Togbui Afede XIV has revealed that the club is in line to secure a major sponsorship deal which could raise the club's finances and increase their stock before the start of next season. The promise was made at the club's Annual General Meeting organised earlier this week with the business mogul insisting that the club can only achieve success if its financial standing is firm enough to support the cause. Hearts of Oak announced an increased profit percentage of 206% in revenue, from 322,555 Ghana cedis to 986,623 Ghana cedis, and that was achieved mainly due to sponsorship provided by Strategic African Securities Limited (SAS) in 2013. The SAS company is owned by the Hearts board chairman as well. Togbui Afede XIV was clear in emphasizing that he and the other Hearts of Oak hierarchy wants the success of the club more than anybody else and that is the more reason why they would go any length to ensure that the club's image and pedigree is restored. The coaches do not want success more than us! We want success as well. The Board will always act in our best interest, he said at the Annual General Meeting. Togbui, chairman of the Volta Regional House of Chief has also suggested that Hearts of Oak would set up a fund for the surviving victims and relatives of the May 9th stadium disaster that claimed 127 lives at the Accra sports stadium after riots broke between supporters of Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko in a league game in 2001.
