My Beef With Mills Was Misconstrued Rawlings

Ex-President Jerry John Rawlings has broken his silence on his conflict with the late President Mills which he reckoned was deliberately promoted not as wrong versus right, but rather as Rawlings versus Mills. Mr. Rawlings said he had no malice against the late President Mills, but the problem he had was with his inaction on the re-investigation of the Ya Na issue as well as his apathy on corruption investigations. He made this remark in a statement congratulating the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, as he celebrates his 64th birthday. Mr. Rawlings singled out Otumfuo as the one who intervened to resolve his differences with Mills, a feat unknown to many. He advised politicians to listen to traditional leaders like the Asantehene, who has a sound and sharp judgement which served as a powerful medium of conciliation and moderation, especially in the resolution of the Abudu/Andani conflict in the Northern Region.
