Peacefmonline is reliably informed that Police Corporal Benney Asomah of Adabraka Police Station out of anger has allegedly poured hot oil on a maid servant, Edem Asare who lives at Korle-Bu Police Barracks with Lance-Corporal Vivian of Accra Central Police Headquarters. According to the father of the victim, Edem Asare moved from Hohoe-New Ayoma in the Jasikan District to stay with Lance-Corporal Vivian at the barracks to assist her in domestic works in order to raise money for the victims education after completing Junior High School a year ago. In a telephone interview with Lance-Corporal Vivian, she disclosed that the incident happened to her maid (Edem Asare) after she instructed her to clear some weeds on the compound she shares with Corporal Benney Asomah at Korle-Bu Barracks. She recounted that the Corporal poured the hot oil on her after Edem Asare hinted him (Benney) and his wife that their oil on the fire has generated a strong smell in the compound, but out of anger, he threw the hot oil straight at her (Edem) maid, bruising her thighs and legs in the process. Police Corporal Benney after his dastard act went into his room ignoring the victim in her pain as the Guardian Lance-Corporal Vivian took her to the hospital for treatment but later came to apologize after Lance-Corporal has spent close to Ghc800 on the victims medication and treatment. She revealed that nothing effective has happened though the case was first reported on Easter Friday at the Korle-Bu Police station but was later sent to Regional Headquarters, despite the fact that the full report is on the Regional Commanders desk. They collected the docket from Korle-Bu Police station and so far I have not heard anything.three days today, the crime officer and I at the Regional Commanders office saw the full report on his desk but as at now I dont know if the Commander has asked that action be taken on it, Lance-Corporal Vivian told Peacefmonline.com. When Corporal Benney Asomah was reached on phone to confirm or deny the allegation leveled against him by the victims father, he told the reporter not to bother him as the incident has nothing to do with the media. Hey guy! Where are you getting your facts from? If there is an accident it will be handled by the police; why are you bothering me this morning?......what do you mean? Massa, let me have my peace, then he hanged up the phone on the reporter.
