The Member of Parliament (MP) for Mampong Constituency, Mr. Francis Addai-Nimoh, has called on the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to remain neutral in the run-up to the flag-bearer primaries. He said all members of the party could not have the same opinion on any single issue and, therefore, urged for unity in diversity as the party marched towards the 2016 elections. In an interview, Mr. Addai-Nimoh, who has declared his intention to contest the flag-bearer position of the party when nominations open, described himself as �the David of the moment in the NPP who will rise from the unknown to the known.� The Mampong MP would have to contend with the likes of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, Prof. Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, Mr. Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, Joe Ghartey, among others, if he will become the party�s flagbearer for the 2016 polls. The party is expected to elect its flag bearer for the 2016 elections by December this year. As a unifier and an experienced fellow in infrastructural development, Mr. Addai Nimoh said he would combine managerial and leadership skills to win the flag-bearer position, as well as the 2016 presidential elections. �If you are a leader and you have managerial skills, it becomes an added advantage for you to lead a group of people,� he stated. The civil engineer has, therefore, asked the party to elect him as the 2016 presidential candidate. He is a civil engineer trained from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He is also into road construction, building, water systems and environmental issues. Mr. Addai-Nimoh, 48, over the years, has been working in the background for the NPP. He described himself as a �silent pusher of actions in the Ashanti Region, the �World Bank� of the NPP.� He supported the national campaign of then candidate J. A. Kufuor in the 2000 elections, promoted policies of his administration and has since paid his dues to the party, especially at the constituency and regional levels. Mr. Addai-Nimoh touted himself as a unifier who could bring good fortunes, that would ensure the party�s victory in 2016.
